The Vice-President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar today remarked that concept of Viksit Bharat @2047 is not just a goal but a sacred mission. Asserting that this century belongs to Bharat, he called upon “every citizen, every institution, and every sector of our society” to contribute their utmost.

What is Viksit Bharat?
Viksit Bharat, also known as Developed India, is a mission launched by the Government of India to transform the country into a developed nation by 2047, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of India’s independence.

Aim
The primary aim of Viksit Bharat is to enhance the country’s economic growth, social development, and overall well-being. The mission focuses on various sectors, including:

  • Economic Development: To boost economic growth, increase per capita income, and reduce poverty and inequality.
  • Social Development: To improve access to education, healthcare, and sanitation, and promote social justice and equality.
  • Infrastructure Development: To upgrade infrastructure, including transportation, energy, and communication networks.
  • Environmental Sustainability: To promote eco-friendly practices, reduce carbon footprint, and ensure sustainable development.

Objectives
The key objectives of Viksit Bharat include:

  • Achieving a $5 trillion economy
  • Raising the literacy rate to 100%
  • Ensuring universal access to healthcare and sanitation
  • Creating 50 million new jobs
  • Reducing the poverty rate to less than 5%

By achieving these objectives, Viksit Bharat aims to create a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable India for all citizens.
