Why in News?
The 25th PM-STIAC meeting was held on July 9, 2024, chaired by Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.
Objective:
The meeting aimed to discuss and deliberate on various science and technology-related issues and initiatives.

- Carbon Capture Utilisation & Storage (CCUS)
- Other science and technology-related issues
Initiatives:
The PM-STIAC has approved several missions, including:
- One Health Mission
- National Quantum Mission
- Artificial Intelligence
- Electric Vehicles
- Waste to Wealth
- Deep Ocean Exploration
- Accelerating Growth of New India’s Innovations (AGNIi)
The PM-STIAC meeting is significant as it brings together experts and stakeholders to promote science, technology, and innovation in the country.
The PM-STIAC was established in August 2018 to provide advice to the Prime Minister on science, technology, and innovation-related matters. The council has been actively working towards promoting innovation and technology in various sectors.
